Notion AI Meeting Notes shipped in 2024. It was predictable: a company with that many users capturing information needed an answer to "what about my meeting?". The product exists and works — for a very specific use case.
What it does well
- Native capture in Notion. The note ends up where you already work.
- Simple templates for recurring meetings.
- Quick summary post-meeting.
If your org lives 100% in Notion and your meetings are short and simple, this is enough.
Where it falls short
Multilingual transcription quality. Decent in English, mediocre in Spanish. Notion doesn't differentiate on the AI layer — they use generic models.
No strong diarization. Who-said-what blurs in meetings >3 people.
Chat over note is basic. Notion AI answers about the page, doesn't retrieve fragments with literal citations.
No tasks pipeline. A detected task stays as text. No native sync to external tools.
Coupled pricing. Notion AI is $10/user/mo extra. Only if you already have Notion Team or Business.
The concrete test
Take a real meeting (not a demo) and process the same recording in Notion AI Meeting Notes and AudioMap. Compare:
- What tasks did each detect?
- Who said what — is it clear?
- Ask the chat: "what objection did X raise?" Does the answer cite the exact moment?
- Share the summary with a colleague. Which one is more useful without listening to the audio?
In most cases we measured, AudioMap wins 3 of 4. Notion wins on "it's where I want it," which is non-trivial.
When to combine
Not exclusive. Many teams use AudioMap to process and export the note to Notion to archive. Best of both worlds.
