A summary is static. You read it and it stays as is. But the questions you have about a meeting aren't always the same. Today you want to know what we decided on pricing. Tomorrow what Marta said about the vendor. Next week, all objections from the last 30 days.
That's why AudioMap didn't stop at the summary.
The insight that changed the product
In early versions, we generated an excellent summary and called it done. Users would read it — then go back to the transcript to look things up. The bottleneck moved from "taking notes" to "finding what I know was said."
The obvious solution was text search. The real solution was to talk to the note.
How it works
The chat has context over:
- The full transcription with timestamps.
- Who said each sentence.
- The structured summary.
- Detected tasks.
- Previous notes you've linked to the same project.
When you ask, the system retrieves relevant fragments (not the whole conversation) and answers with verifiable citations. Each answer links to the exact minute of audio.

"What objection did Carlos raise about the migration plan?"
Answer: "Carlos raised that the downtime risk during cutover wasn't quantified [12:34]. He also mentioned the legal team hadn't validated the SLA yet [18:09]."
"Summarize in 3 points what we decided in the last 3 roadmap meetings."
Synthesized answer with reference to each note.
"What did I promise to Acme Customer last week?"
Answer with each commitment and its context.
The difference vs. a summary
A summary answers the questions the model assumes you'll have. The chat answers the questions you actually have.
That difference, multiplied by a hundred meetings, changes the product.
